Role Description

• We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Technical Engineering Lead to join our Privileged access management team. This is a pivotal role that combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic product direction and strong stakeholder engagement. You will be instrumental in guiding the technical development of critical systems, translating business needs into robust technical solutions, and fostering a collaborative environment within the team and across the organization.

Your key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex software solutions, ensuring high quality, scalability, performance, and security.

• Act as a technical expert, providing guidance and mentorship to a team of engineers.

• Actively contribute to coding, code reviews, and architectural decisions, ensuring best practices are followed.

• Drive the adoption of modern engineering practices (e.g., CI/CD, TDD, cloud-native architectures).

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring system reliability and availability.

• Collaborate closely with product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications and user stories.

• Define and prioritize the technical roadmap, balancing short-term deliverables with long-term strategic goals.

• Own the technical vision for your product area, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and architectural principles.

• Champion a user-centric approach to development, ensuring solutions meet real-world needs.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including business leaders, product managers, architects, operations, and other engineering teams.

• Effectively communicate technical concepts, progress, and challenges to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Represent the engineering team in cross-functional meetings and initiatives.

• Act as a key liaison between engineering and the broader business, fostering a culture of transparency and collaboration.

Your skills and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Must have at least 12 years industry experience and relevant hands-on experience in the following areas

• Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with a strong focus on Java

• Extensive experience with front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).

• Strong proficiency in front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js).

• Extensive experience with Spring Boot and the Spring Framework.

• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Microservices architecture and design patterns.

• Proficiency in Hibernate and JPA for object-relational mapping.

• Demonstrable experience in designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs.

• Solid understanding and practical experience with Docker for containerization.

• Experience deploying and managing applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

• Experience with Git for version control.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Competency in translating high-level business goals into a structured technical roadmap.

• Establishing coding standards, architectural guidelines, and driving the adoption of best practices across the team.

• Ability to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical architecture documents

Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
