Job Description
Operations Executive – Nylon Cable Ties
Department: Operations
Reports To: Director
Industry: Nylon Cable Ties / Plastic Injection Moulding
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Purpose: The Operations Executive will coordinate and monitor day-to-day operations of the nylon cable ties business, ensuring that customer orders are produced, packed, stocked and dispatched on time.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Order Management
- Receive and verify customer orders/POs.
- Check SKU, size, colour, quantity, packing specification and delivery date.
- Check available finished-goods stock before committing delivery.
- Prepare daily order pending and dispatch reports.
- Follow up with production for pending orders.
- Ensure urgent customer requirements are escalated immediately.
2. Production Coordination:
- Prepare daily/weekly production requirements based on orders and stock levels.
- Coordinate with production supervisors and machine operators.
- Monitor production against planned quantities.
- Track machine-wise production.
- Monitor rejection, wastage and production shortages.
- Identify production delays and escalate them to management.
- Coordinate mould/changeover requirements where applicable.
3. Raw Material & Stores Coordination:
- Monitor availability of nylon raw material, masterbatch, additives and packing materials
- Coordinate with Purchase for material shortages.
- Maintain minimum/maximum stock levels.
- Monitor inward material quantities against purchase orders.
- Coordinate material issue from stores to production.
- Track raw material consumption against production.
4. Finished Goods Stock Maintain accurate SKU-wise finished-goods stock:
- Track stock by:
- Product/SKU
- Size
- Colour
- Packing quantity
- Cartons/bags
- Location
- Reconcile physical stock with system/Excel stock.
- Highlight slow-moving and fast-moving products.
- Maintain minimum stock levels for important SKUs.
5. Quality CoordinationCoordinate with QC for production inspection:
- Ensure products meet approved specifications.
- Monitor rejection and rework quantities.
- Record customer complaints and coordinate corrective action.
- Ensure defective/rejected products are properly segregated.
6. Packing & DispatchCoordinate packing according to customer specifications:
- Verify carton/bag quantity before dispatch.
- Prepare dispatch instructions.
- Coordinate with logistics/transporters.
- Ensure correct SKU and quantity are dispatched.
- Maintain daily dispatch records.
- Track pending dispatches and delivery status.
7. Sales CoordinationCoordinate with salespersons regarding:
- New orders
- Pending orders
- Stock availability
- Production status
- Dispatch status
- Customer delivery commitments
- Provide accurate stock information to the sales team.
- Avoid accepting orders without checking production capacity and stock availability.
8. MIS & Reporting:
The Operations Executive should prepare daily reports such as:
- Daily Customer Order Pending Report
- Daily Production Plan vs Actual
- Daily Finished Goods Stock
- Daily Raw Material Stock
- Daily Dispatch Report
- Daily Rejection Report
- Daily Production Shortage Report
- Weekly Pending Purchase Report
- Weekly Slow / Non-Moving Stock
- Weekly Customer Complaint Report
- Weekly Operations MIS
Daily Working Routine
Morning
- Check pending customer orders.
- Check available finished stock.
- Check previous day's production.
- Prepare today's production requirement.
- Check raw material availability.
- Coordinate with production.
During the Day
- Monitor production progress.
- Track urgent orders.
- Coordinate QC inspection.
- Monitor packing.
- Coordinate dispatches.
- Update stock and order status.
End of Day
- Update production actual.
- Update finished stock.
- Update dispatch quantities.
- Update pending orders.
- Record shortages/rejections.
- Prepare management MIS.
- Highlight problems requiring management attention.
Required Skills:
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
- Inventory management.
- Production planning.
- Order management.
- Understanding of nylon/raw-material consumption is preferred.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Strong follow-up ability.
- Data accuracy.
- Problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work under production deadlines.
Preferred Experience:
Experience: 2–5 years in manufacturing operations, preferably:
- Plastic injection moulding
- Nylon products
- Cable ties
- Automotive plastic components
- Electrical plastic components
- Packaging/plastic products
Experience with ERP, Tally, inventory software or manufacturing MIS will be an advantage.
- Educational QualificationGraduate/Diploma in any relevant discipline.
- BBA/B.Com/BBM/Diploma in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering preferred.

Authority & Accountability:
The Operations Executive is accountable for coordination and information accuracy, but should not independently make major decisions regarding:
- Customer pricing
- Purchase prices
- Supplier selection
- Production priority changes
- Credit terms
- Major inventory adjustments
- Rejection/write-off decisions
These should be escalated to the Operations Manager/Management.
Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone who can act as the central control point between Sales, Production, Stores, Quality, Packing and Dispatch.
The person should not merely enter data into Excel. They should continuously ask:
“What is pending? Why is it pending? Who is responsible? What is required to complete it? By when will it be completed?”
Primary objective: Ensure the right product + quantity + quality + packing + delivery date reaches the customer with minimum delay and minimum operational error.
