Mechanical Draftsman

Position: Mechanical Draftsman

Department: Engineering / Design

Experience: 3-4 Years (Candidates with experience in structural and mechanical design using AutoCAD will be preferred)

Location: MG Road, Bangalore

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Draftsman with 3–4 years of hands-on experience in AutoCAD, structural drafting, and mechanical design. The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate engineering drawings, layouts, fabrication drawings, and detailed designs as per project and engineering requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed 2D mechanical and structural drawings using AutoCAD.

• Develop fabrication, assembly, layout, and detailed engineering drawings.

• Prepare structural drawings, equipment layouts, and mechanical component drawings.

• Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, dimensions, and design requirements.

• Modify and update existing drawings based on engineering changes.

• Coordinate with mechanical, structural, production, and project engineering teams.

• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, standards, and design requirements.

• Prepare GA (General Arrangement), fabrication, and sectional drawings as required.

• Maintain proper documentation and revision control of engineering drawings.

• Support engineers in developing and finalizing mechanical and structural designs.

• Conduct drawing checks for accuracy, dimensions, tolerances, and completeness.

• Coordinate with fabrication/production teams to resolve drawing-related issues.

• Ensure timely completion of drawings as per project schedules.

Required Skills:

• Strong hands-on proficiency in AutoCAD.

• Good knowledge of Mechanical Drafting and Structural Drafting.

• Understanding of mechanical components, structures, fabrication, and engineering drawings.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

• Knowledge of GA drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and layouts.

• Good understanding of dimensions, tolerances, sections, and detailing.

• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with engineering teams.

• Good attention to detail and accuracy.

Educational Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Draftsman Mechanical or equivalent technical qualification.

Preferred Industry Experience: Candidates from Engineering, Manufacturing, Fabrication, Steel, Power Plant, Heavy Engineering, Industrial Projects, or Mechanical Equipment industries will be preferred.
