Job Description
- Assist cooks with basic food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping vegetables and other ingredients.
- Clean and wash utensils, vessels, cookware, plates, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen workstations, floors, counters, and storage areas.
- Keep ingredients, utensils, and kitchen supplies organised and readily available.
- Assist in receiving, unloading, and storing vegetables, groceries, and other kitchen supplies.
- Help with sorting, portioning, and storing food ingredients as instructed.
- Follow proper food storage practices, including labelling, covering, and FIFO (First In, First Out).
- Support the kitchen team during food preparation and peak business hours.
- Assist with packing food items and bulk orders whenever required.
- Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately and maintain proper waste segregation.
- Ensure cleaning materials and kitchen supplies are stored safely.
- Follow personal hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety standards.
- Help with kitchen opening and closing activities, including cleaning and organising the kitchen.
- Inform the supervisor about shortages of cleaning supplies, ingredients, or other kitchen essentials.
- Perform other kitchen support duties as assigned by the senior cooks or owner.
