Fire Fighting Hydrant Contractor

Job Summary:

Responsible for supervising and managing the installation, testing, and commissioning of fire fighting and hydrant systems at construction and industrial project sites. Ensure all work is carried out according to approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and fire safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise installation of fire hydrant piping, sprinkler systems, hose reels, landing valves, and fire fighting equipment.

Coordinate installation of fire pumps, jockey pumps, pump rooms, valves, and associated piping.

Read and interpret fire fighting layout drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications.

Manage technicians, pipe fitters, welders, helpers, and subcontractors at the site.

Monitor daily site progress and ensure work is completed as per the project schedule.

Coordinate with project managers, MEP engineers, consultants, clients, and other contractors.

Check pipe routing, supports, sleeves, valve locations, and installation quality.

Ensure proper material planning, material requisitions, and stock management.

Conduct or coordinate pressure testing, flushing, hydrostatic testing, and commissioning activities as per approved procedures.

Ensure compliance with applicable fire safety standards and project requirements.

Maintain daily progress reports, manpower records, inspection reports, and material records.

Follow site safety procedures, including work permits and precautions for hot work and working at height.

Identify site issues, resolve technical problems, and report progress or delays to management.

Coordinate inspections and rectify defects or snags before project handover.
