Business Development Manager (BDM)

Tap Academy is hiring a Business Development Executive for our Placements team in Bengaluru.

WHAT YOU WILL SELL

Companies can hire trained, tested software developers from us at zero cost. No fee to the company. No fee to the candidate. Every candidate has cleared our tests before they meet you.

Your job is to get IT and product companies to hire from Tap Academy, by running hiring drives at our campus or at their office.

If you have sold to companies before in SaaS, staffing, IT services, insurance or real estate, you already have the skills. Finding the right person, getting a meeting, closing. Same job, easier pitch, because there is nothing to pay.

ABOUT US

Bengaluru based coding education company running since 2021. We train graduates in Java and Python full stack and place them in companies. Over 100,000 students trained. ISO certified. Startup India recognised.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

1. Build a list of companies that hire developers and find the right contact in each one, such as HR head, talent acquisition lead, hiring manager or founder.

2. Cold call and email them. 40 to 60 calls a day when not travelling.

3. Set up meetings, online or in person.

4. Travel to companies in and around Bengaluru. 3 to 4 days a week in the field, the rest in the office.

5. Run the meeting, explain the zero cost hiring model, and get the company to agree to a hiring drive.

6. Coordinate the drive with our placement team on dates, roles, openings and test rounds.

7. Stay in touch after the drive so the company comes back for the next batch.

8. Log every call, meeting and drive result in the tracker the same day.

WHAT WE NEED

1. 2 to 3 years of B2B sales or business development, any industry.

2. You have done cold calling and set up your own meetings, not through an SDR team.

3. You have sat in front of decision makers and closed.

4. Comfortable with a field role. Own two wheeler, or willing to travel by cab and metro daily.

5. Clear spoken and written English. Kannada or Hindi is a plus.

6. Basic CRM discipline. You log your work without being asked.

7. Graduate, based in Bengaluru or willing to relocate before joining.

GOOD TO HAVE

Sold to HR or talent acquisition teams before. Staffing, recruitment or edtech background. Existing contacts in Bengaluru IT and product companies.

PAY AND INCENTIVES

1. Fixed salary Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 a month based on experience.

2. Rs 2,000 for every new company that runs its first hiring drive with us.

3. Rs 1,000 for every offer letter that comes out of a drive you set up.

4. Rs 15,000 quarterly bonus for 8 or more new company drives in a quarter.

5. On target earnings Rs 8 to 9 lakh a year. No cap on incentives.

6. Travel reimbursed on actuals. Rs 1,500 a month phone and data allowance.

7. Incentives are paid for work logged in the tracker.

WORK DETAILS

Location: Tap Academy office, Bengaluru, plus company visits.

Days: Monday to Saturday.

Reports to: Director, Business Development (Placements).

Joining: within 30 days.

INTERVIEW PROCESS

15 minute phone screen, then one in person round with the Director and one with the founder.
