Project Engineer

We are looking for a competent and experienced Project Engineer to oversee and coordinate day-to-day construction activities at the project site. The role will be responsible for ensuring that construction work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, project schedules, and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Execution

• Supervise and monitor day-to-day construction activities at the project site.
• Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and site teams.
• Ensure proper sequencing and timely completion of construction activities.
• Monitor manpower, materials, machinery, and resources at the site.
• Identify site issues and coordinate with the Project Manager for timely resolution.

2. Planning & Coordination

• Assist in preparing and monitoring daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules.
• Track project progress against the approved project schedule.
• Coordinate with planning, procurement, QA/QC, safety, and other departments.
• Ensure required materials are available at the site as per the construction schedule.
• Coordinate with contractors to achieve planned targets and milestones.

3. Quality Control

• Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspections and testing.
• Monitor workmanship and identify defects or deviations.
• Ensure rectification of quality issues within the required timeframe.
• Maintain proper inspection records and site documentation.

4. Drawings & Technical Coordination

• Review construction drawings and specifications before execution.
• Coordinate with consultants and design teams regarding technical clarifications.
• Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions and escalate them appropriately.
• Ensure the latest approved drawings are being followed at the site.
• Maintain records of drawings, revisions, and technical instructions.

5. Contractor Management

• Supervise and coordinate contractors and subcontractors.
• Monitor contractor performance, productivity, manpower, and work quality.
• Ensure contractors follow project timelines, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
• Verify work completion and measurements in coordination with the concerned teams.
• Follow up on pending works and ensure timely closure.

6. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all site activities are carried out in accordance with company safety policies.
• Coordinate with the HSE/Safety team to maintain safe working conditions.
• Ensure workers and contractors use appropriate PPE.
• Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, or potential hazards.
• Ensure compliance with applicable construction and statutory requirements.

7. Progress Monitoring & Reporting

• Prepare and submit daily site progress reports.
• Maintain records of manpower, material consumption, work progress, and site activities.
• Highlight delays, constraints, and critical issues to the Project Manager.
• Track pending and snag works and ensure timely closure.
• Participate in project review meetings and provide site updates.

8. Documentation

• Maintain site records, inspection reports, work permits, checklists, and other project documentation.
• Maintain records of site instructions, approvals, measurements, and correspondence.
• Assist in preparing project-related reports and documentation required by management.

Qualification

• B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Additional qualifications in Construction Management will be an advantage.

Experience

• 3–7 years of relevant experience in residential/commercial construction or real estate projects.
• Candidates with experience in high-rise residential projects will be preferred.

• Knowledge of quality control and construction standards.
• Good planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage contractors and site teams.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of project planning software such as MS Project / Primavera will be an advantage.
