Job Description: Machine Operator (Food Manufacturing)

Department: Production | Reports to: Production Supervisor

Employment type: Full-time, rotational shifts (including weekends as required)

Job Summary

Operates, monitors, and maintains production machinery in our food manufacturing plant, ensuring products meet quality, safety, and output standards while keeping equipment clean and running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Operation: Run all assigned machines (blenders,mixers, fillers, ovens, packaging, labelling, conveyors). Start up, adjust, and shut down per SOPs. Set parameters such as temperature, speed, and weight. Load ingredients and packaging materials.
• Machine care: Do daily pre-, mid-, and post-shift checks. Perform routine lubrication, minor adjustments, and part replacements. Report faults immediately, assist maintenance technicians, and keep machine and downtime logs.
• Cleaning and sanitation: Clean and sanitize machines during changeovers and at shift end, dismantling and reassembling parts as needed. Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Quality and food safety: Follow GMP and HACCP. Check weight, seals, labelling, and batch/date codes. Separate non-conforming product and complete traceability records accurately.
• Efficiency: Meet production targets, minimise waste and downtime, carry out fast and correct changeovers, and suggest improvements.
• Health and safety: Follow all safety rules, including machine guarding and PPE rules. Report accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately.

Requirements

Essential

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical certificate/ITI/diploma preferred)
• 1–3 years of machine operating experience in manufacturing (food industry preferred)
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Understanding of food hygiene and safety practices
• Knowledge of 5S or Lean

Skills

Attention to detail, problem-solving, reliability, teamwork, ability to work under pressure, and willingness to learn new machines.

Working Conditions

Standing for long periods, lifting up to 20–25 kg, and working in hot, cold, or noisy areas. PPE (hairnet, gloves, safety shoes, ear protection) and strict hygiene rules apply at all times.

जॉब का सारांश

हमारे फ़ूड मैन्युफैक्चरिंग प्लांट में प्रोडक्शन मशीनरी को चलाना, मॉनिटर करना और उसका रखरखाव करना। यह पक्का करना कि प्रोडक्ट क्वालिटी, सुरक्षा और आउटपुट स्टैंडर्ड्स को पूरा करें, साथ ही इक्विपमेंट को साफ़ और कुशलता से चलाना।

मुख्य ज़िम्मेदारियाँ

•         ऑपरेशन: सभी सौंपी गई मशीनों (मिक्सर, फिलर, ओवन, पैकेजिंग, लेबलिंग, कन्वेयर) को चलाना। SOPs के अनुसार शुरू करना, एडजस्ट करना और बंद करना। तापमान, गति और वज़न जैसे पैरामीटर सेट करना। सामग्री और पैकेजिंग मटीरियल लोड करना।

•         मशीन की देखभाल: शिफ्ट से पहले, बीच में और बाद में रोज़ाना जाँच करना। रूटीन लुब्रिकेशन, छोटे-मोटे एडजस्टमेंट और पार्ट्स बदलना। खराबी की तुरंत रिपोर्ट करना, मेंटेनेंस टेक्नीशियन की मदद करना और मशीन व डाउनटाइम का रिकॉर्ड रखना।

•         सफ़ाई और सैनिटाइज़ेशन: चेंजओवर के दौरान और शिफ्ट के अंत में मशीनों को साफ़ और सैनिटाइज़ करना, ज़रूरत पड़ने पर पार्ट्स को खोलना और दोबारा जोड़ना। काम की जगह को साफ़ और व्यवस्थित रखना।

•         क्वालिटी और फ़ूड सेफ्टी: GMP और HACCP का पालन करना। वज़न, सील, लेबलिंग और बैच/डेट कोड की जाँच करना। खराब या स्टैंडर्ड के अनुसार न होने वाले प्रोडक्ट को अलग करना और ट्रेसेबिलिटी रिकॉर्ड सही ढंग से पूरा करना।

•         एफिशिएंसी: प्रोडक्शन टारगेट पूरे करना, वेस्ट और डाउनटाइम कम करना, तेज़ी से और सही ढंग से चेंजओवर करना और सुधार के सुझाव देना।

•         स्वास्थ्य और सुरक्षा: मशीन गार्डिंग और PPE नियमों सहित सभी सुरक्षा नियमों का पालन करना। दुर्घटनाओं, बाल-बाल बचे हादसों (near misses) और असुरक्षित स्थितियों की तुरंत रिपोर्ट करना।

ज़रूरी

•         हाई स्कूल डिप्लोमा या समकक्ष (टेक्निकल सर्टिफ़िकेट/ITI/डिप्लोमा को प्राथमिकता)

•         मैन्युफैक्चरिंग में मशीन चलाने का 1–3 साल का अनुभव (फ़ूड इंडस्ट्री को प्राथमिकता)

•         बेसिक मैकेनिकल समझ और समस्या सुलझाने की क्षमता

•         फ़ूड हाइजीन और सुरक्षा प्रक्रियाओं की समझ

•         5S या Lean का ज्ञान

कौशल

बारीकियों पर ध्यान देना, समस्या सुलझाना, भरोसेमंद होना, टीमवर्क, दबाव में काम करने की क्षमता और नई मशीनें सीखने की इच्छा।

काम की स्थितियाँ

लंबे समय तक खड़े रहना, 20–25 kg तक वज़न उठाना और गर्म, ठंडे या शोर वाले इलाकों में काम करना। PPE (हेयरनेट, ग्लव्स, सेफ्टी शूज़, कान की सुरक्षा) और साफ़-सफ़ाई के कड़े नियम हर समय लागू होते हैं।
