Job Summary 

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Software Engineer with entry-level experience in ServiceNow Development, strong exposure to the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), software technologies, and hands-on experience building software solutions. The ideal candidate should possess strong computer science fundamentals and programming skills to develop scalable software products and platform solutions. 

You will contribute to ServiceNow platform development, platform enhancements, production support, code fixes, platform engineering initiatives, and software quality engineering. You will also have the opportunity to build automation solutions, leverage AI & AIOps, and continuously enhance your software engineering skills through structured learning and mentorship. 

You will be professionally trained to acquire the necessary technical and functional skills required for success in the role. 

Responsibilities 

Learning 

  • Complete in-depth training and certification for ServiceNow Development.  

  • Participate in Software Quality Engineering training and gain exposure to modern test automation frameworks such as Selenium and Playwright.  

  • Continuously improve AI literacy and build expertise in AI-assisted engineering and AIOps initiatives.  

ServiceNow Development 

  • Design, develop, configure, and enhance applications and workflows on the ServiceNow platform.  

  • Build and customize platform capabilities using ServiceNow development best practices.  

  • Contribute to platform enhancements and automation initiatives.  

Platform Engineering & Support 

  • Contribute to ServiceNow platform stability through troubleshooting, code fixes, production support, and platform maintenance.  

  • Participate in platform upgrades, health checks, monitoring system performance, and integration support.  

  • Support release validations, deployment activities, and post-release monitoring.  

  • Investigate recurring issues, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement preventive solutions to improve platform resilience.  

  • Participate in Incident, Problem, and Change Management activities while ensuring SLA/SLO adherence.  

Collaboration 

  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.  

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.  

Documentation 

  • Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, troubleshooting guides, deployment documentation, and knowledge base articles.  

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.  

  • Strong educational background with solid technology fundamentals.  

  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow Development.  

Must-Have Skills 

  • Strong understanding of software design, development principles, and SDLC.  

  • Hands-on knowledge of ServiceNow Development and platform capabilities.  

  • Exposure to ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Service Catalog, or Flow Designer.  

  • Basic programming knowledge (JavaScript preferred) and understanding of software engineering concepts.  

  • Understanding of REST APIs and integrations.  

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  

  • Willingness to learn new technologies, engineering practices, and business processes.  

Preferred / Differentiator Skills 

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or other ServiceNow certifications.  

  • Exposure to software quality engineering and test automation tools such as Playwright or Selenium.  

  • Knowledge of AI, Machine Learning, AI-assisted software engineering, or AIOps.  

  • Exposure to Agile methodologies, CI/CD, or DevOps practices.
