About Job:

Senior Software Engineer (Python, FastAPI, SQL and AI/ML), Chennai.

Our team specializes in data engineering, analytics, and data-driven solution development, focusing on transforming large volumes of raw data into meaningful business insights. The team is responsible for designing and maintaining data processing pipelines that involve data ingestion, validation, cleansing, transformation, and analysis across multiple data sources. Using advanced statistical and algorithmic techniques, the team develops and executes complex data processing workflows to derive high-quality, actionable datasets that support business decision-making. The work is predominantly carried out using Python and R, leveraging their rich ecosystems for data manipulation, analytics, automation, and model development.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable backend applications and services using Python and modern frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Build and maintain robust RESTful APIs to support seamless integration with internal platforms, third-party services, and enterprise systems.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain database solutions using PostgreSQL including data modeling, schema design, query optimization, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Implement comprehensive logging, exception handling, monitoring, and observability solutions to ensure system reliability and operational excellence.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code following established coding standards and best practices.
• Participate actively in code reviews, technical design discussions, architectural reviews, and Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
• Troubleshoot application and production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement reliable, long-term solutions.
• Leverage GitHub for source code management, collaboration, version control, and CI/CD workflows.
• Utilize AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, VS Code AI extensions, and similar technologies to improve developer productivity, code quality, and delivery efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions aligned with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience as a Backend Engineer with strong proficiency in Python (3.10+)
• Extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs using FastAPI.
• Strong expertise in writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and other database objects.
• Ability to develop clean, scalable, well-structured, and maintainable code following software engineering best practices.
• Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies, tools, and evolving business requirements.
• Demonstrates a high degree of ownership, accountability, and responsibility in delivering quality solutions within timelines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Capable of working independently while also contributing effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Exposure to Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and an understanding of leveraging AI capabilities to enhance productivity, automation, and business outcomes is highly desirable.
• Experience using AI-powered developer tools such as GitHub Copilot, VS Code AI extensions, or similar coding assistants is an added advantage.
• Working knowledge of React and front-end development for building modern user interfaces is a plus.
