Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Transportation Engineer with a strong focus on Traffic Data Analytics and 
GIS applicationsto support transportation planning, traffic assessment, due diligence studies, 
and smart mobility projects. The role involves collecting, managing, analyzing, and visualizing 
large traffic and geospatial datasets to generate actionable insights for highways, urban 
mobility, and transportation infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate should have a 
passion for data-driven decision-making, spatial analysis, and modern transportation 
technologies.

Role accountabilities:

Collect, validate, and analyze traffic, mobility, and transportation datasets from 
surveys, sensors, and secondary sources.
• Develop GIS-based traffic maps, network inventories, thematic analyses, and spatial 
visualizations.
• Perform traffic data analysis using tools such as Excel, Python, Power BI, and GIS 
platforms.
• Support traffic due diligence studies, traffic impact assessments, and transportation 
planning projects through data-driven insights.
• Prepare dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate technical findings 
to project teams and clients.
• Assist in managing and integrating traffic, road network, and geospatial databases.
• Coordinate field surveys and ensure data quality for traffic and transportation 
studies.
• Collaborate with transportation planners, engineers, urban planners, and GIS 
specialists on multidisciplinary projects.

Required Skills
• Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS/QGIS) for spatial analysis, mapping, and 
visualization.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in MS Excel, Power BI, Python, or similar 
data analytics tools.
• Knowledge of traffic engineering, transportation planning, and mobility analytics.
• Experience in data cleaning, processing, visualization, and reporting.
• Familiarity with transport modeling tools such as VISUM, VISSIM, TransCAD, or 
similar software is desirable.
• Good communication, presentation, and technical report-writing skills.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Geography, GIS, 
or related field.
• Master's degree in Traffic/Transportation Engineering, Planning, GIS, or Data 
Analytics preferred.

Experience
• 0 to 3 years of experience in traffic engineering, transportation analytics, GIS, or 
related fields.
• Freshers with strong GIS and data analytics skills are encouraged to apply.
• Experience in traffic due diligence studies, traffic impact assessments, or mobility 
analytics will be an advantage
