Job Title: Sr. Network & Security Engineer

Role Summary: We are looking for a Network & Security Engineer who can work with NECI and contribute to the management, administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and deployment of enterprise network and security infrastructure. The role requires strong hands-on experience in Fortinet Firewall, switching, routing, VPN, data center networking, network monitoring, security operations, and L1/L2/L3 troubleshooting. The candidate will work closely with internal teams, OEMs, and project stakeholders to ensure secure, stable, and highly available network infrastructure.

Must-have Skills

1. Hands-on experience in Fortinet FortiGate Firewall administration and troubleshooting.
2. Strong knowledge of Firewall Policies, NAT, Routing, Security Profiles, IPSec and SSL VPN.
3. Good understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, VLAN, Trunking, Routing and Switching.
4. Experience in network and data center infrastructure operations.
5. Experience in troubleshooting network connectivity, firewall, VPN, switching, routing, SFP and interface-related issues.
6. Experience with network monitoring and ITSM tools, preferably Infraon.
7. Experience in new-site network deployment, including firewall, switch, wireless and connectivity configuration.
8. Knowledge of network security monitoring, SOC incidents, DLP and basic SIEM operations.
9. Experience in preparing and maintaining network topology, architecture and infrastructure documentation.
10. Ability to coordinate with OEM/vendor support teams for resolution of complex technical issues.

Good-to-have Skills

1. Knowledge of FortiAnalyzer and FortiSandbox.
2. Knowledge of Cisco Duo and MFA-based administrative access.
3. Experience with Dell, Arista or other enterprise/data center switches.
4. Knowledge of ISMS and information security audit requirements.
5. Experience in data center passive connectivity, inter-rack cabling and MPO connectivity.
6. Fortinet NSE/NTA/FortiGate Operator certifications.
7. CCNA or equivalent networking knowledge.
8. Basic knowledge of SIEM, DLP and security incident management.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain enterprise network and security infrastructure across multiple locations.
• Configure, administer and troubleshoot Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls.
• Configure and troubleshoot firewall policies, NAT, routing, security profiles and VPN connectivity.
• Manage IPSec and SSL VPN, including user creation, access provisioning and troubleshooting.
• Perform L1/L2/L3 troubleshooting for network, firewall, VPN, routing and switching issues.
• Configure and troubleshoot VLANs, trunk ports, MAC address issues, SFPs and Layer 2/Layer 3 connectivity.
• Support data center network operations, including firewalls, ToR switches and passive network infrastructure.
• Perform network monitoring and proactively identify network and security issues.
• Handle incidents and service requests through the ITSM platform and ensure timely resolution within defined SLAs.
• Support new network site deployments including planning, configuration, connectivity testing and commissioning.
• Prepare and maintain network topology, architecture, configuration and operational documentation.
• Support network migrations and implementation activities with proper testing and rollback procedures.
• Monitor and investigate security alerts, SOC advisories and network security incidents.
• Support DLP monitoring and security controls to identify and prevent unauthorized data movement.
• Support ISMS and internal/external security audits by providing required technical documentation and evidence.
• Coordinate with OEMs such as Fortinet, Arista and other technology partners for technical troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Maintain network device inventory and infrastructure records.
• Support secure administrative access through MFA/Cisco Duo and other security controls.
• Collaborate with project, operations, security and customer teams for smooth network operations.
• Ensure network availability, performance, security and compliance across project locations.

Prerequisites:

• Qualification: B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications or related field.
• Experience: 3–5 years’ relevant experience in Network & Security Engineering, Enterprise Networking and Data Center Operations.
• Hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate Firewall is mandatory.
• Good understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPN and network security.
• Good communication, troubleshooting, documentation and coordination skills.
• Willingness to work in a project/data-center environment and support critical incidents when required.
