Senior Software Engineer (FullStack)

Position Overview

Maersk is strengthening its application development organization with a focus on ownership, predictability, agility and reduced time to delivery. We are seeking engineers who embrace modern AI-enabled software development practices. The ideal candidate combines strong full-stack engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience using Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor or similar tools to accelerate delivery, improve code quality and engineering productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement full stack features end-to-end
• Support production systems and resolve complex issues
• Develop Kotlin/Spring Boot microservices and React frontends
• Contribute to CI/CD, DevSecOps and observability
• Use AI tools for code generation, review, debugging, testing and documentation
• Leverage agentic workflows to accelerate engineering delivery
• Validate AI-generated outputs for correctness, security and maintainability
• Mentor team members on effective AI-assisted engineering practices

Required Skills

• 8-13 years of full stack engineering experience
• Kotlin or similar JVM language, Spring Boot/Ktor
• React, TypeScript, Jest
• Kafka and Kafka Streams
• Kubernetes, Docker, Git, Maven/Gradle, CI/CD
• PostgreSQL
• Proficient in software design and architectural concepts for building scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions.
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex challenges and deliver effective solutions.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or equivalent tools.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools for feature development, code reviews, test generation, refactoring, debugging, and technical documentation.
• Ability to evaluate, validate, and improve AI-generated outputs for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to quickly become productive in unfamiliar frameworks and technologies using AI-assisted engineering approaches.
• Experience mentoring teams on effective and responsible use of AI coding assistants
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and product-driven environments
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, SAST tools and secure coding standards
• Experience with deployment strategies, observability and production support
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, load balancing, and network troubleshooting.
