Summary

We are seeking a Triage/Diagnosis/Defect Engineer to own root cause analysis, defect logging, and execution/coverage reporting for the bench validation program. This role consumes AI-flagged anomalies and raw execution failures across Quality, FuSa, Cybersecurity, and Regulatory domains, drives them to a validated root cause and severity classification, and produces the daily/weekly execution and defect reporting used in program governance.

Roles & Responsibilities

-Perform root cause analysis and diagnosis on test failures escalated from Test Engineers and from AI-assisted anomaly detection.
-Log, classify, and maintain defects with severity, status, and root cause detail, linking severity to ASIL (FuSa findings), CAL (cybersecurity findings), and release impact as applicable, and ensuring traceability to requirements, test execution, and release context.
-Validate AI-flagged anomalies against actual bench/system behavior before confirming them as defects (human-in-the-loop review), and distinguish genuine failures from bench-environment or test-script issues (false-positive identification).
-Prepare daily and weekly test execution reports covering execution status, defect impact, and coverage status for management review.
-Maintain defect trend and coverage-metric inputs for monthly executive KPI reviews (defect detection efficiency, bench utilization, traceability compliance).
-Coordinate with Domain SMEs (FuSa/Cybersecurity/Regulatory) to confirm domain-specific severity and disposition of findings.
-Support defect closure/disposition tracking and audit-evidence packaging for deliverable acceptance.

Professional & Technical Skills

-5 years of experience in automotive defect triage, root cause analysis, or quality reporting roles.
-Strong analytical skills in interpreting bench logs, traces, and diagnostic data (CAN/LIN/Ethernet, UDS) to isolate root cause.
-Working knowledge of ASIL classification (for FuSa-linked severity) and Cybersecurity Assurance Level, CAL 1–4 (for cybersecurity-linked severity), and how each maps to defect severity and release impact.
-Distinct, hands-on toolchain fluency: Jira for defect lifecycle management and trend queries, TestRail for execution-result analysis and coverage reporting, Jama Connect for requirements-to-defect traceability, and Power BI (or equivalent) for KPI dashboards and defect/coverage trend charts.
-Working knowledge of Jenkins/GitLab CI/CD pipeline failure analysis for smoke-test defects, and Python for log-parsing/defect-data-extraction scripts.
-Working knowledge of ASPICE and severity/traceability expectations under ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, and FMVSS/ECE contexts.
-Ability to critically validate AI-generated anomaly/defect classifications rather than accepting them at face value.
-Strong written communication skills for producing client-facing execution and defect reports.
-Comfortable operating in a 2-week Agile sprint cadence with weekly/monthly governance reporting cycles.

Additional Information

-Minimum 7 years of experience in Automotive Defect Triage / Quality Reporting.
-This position is based at our Bengaluru/Pune office (offshore, supporting a US-based onsite counterpart team).
-Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is required.
