JOB PURPOSE
- Carelon Global Solutions India is seeking a highly creative and meticulous Team Lead II, who will be responsible for all design requirements for our leader communications.
- Associate will report to Manager – Communications and must understand the design process, liaising with multiple stakeholders to understand the brief and deliver all in-house design requirements, apart from coordinating with external agencies to ensure brand guidelines are followed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
- Team Lead, Cloud Platform (Platform Engineering | Scrum Master | Multi-Platform Kubernetes).
- Team Lead – Cloud Platform (Platform Engineering) is accountable for leading a global team and driving end-to-end delivery of complex cloud platform capabilities that enable application teams to build, deploy, and operate services efficiently and securely.
- This role partners closely with US-based engineering leaders, product owners, solution architects, security, and operations to deliver secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-effective enterprise platform services.
- The role includes mandatory Scrum Master responsibilities to ensure disciplined agile execution, predictable delivery, and continuous improvement. The Delivery Lead is also responsible for people leadership (talent development, performance management, engagement), delivery governance, stakeholder management, and driving innovation through automation and reusable platform components.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Engineering Delivery & Technical Leadership:
- Lead delivery of cloud platform capabilities such as landing zones, identity and access patterns, network connectivity, container platforms, CI/CD enablement, observability, and shared services.
- Define and execute a platform roadmap aligned to business priorities; translate platform strategy into milestones, delivery plans, and measurable outcomes.
- Provide technical leadership across platform engineering practices including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, standardization, and “golden paths” for application teams.
- Ensure platform solutions meet enterprise requirements for availability, resiliency, performance, security, and auditability.
- Drive production readiness for releases including operational runbooks, monitoring/alerting, capacity planning, DR considerations, and rollback plans.
- Enable self-service adoption through templates, pipeline scaffolding, reusable modules, and reference architectures.
Containers / Kubernetes (Multi-Platform):
- Deliver and support containerized platform services and workloads using Kubernetes across enterprise environments including AWS EKS, Azure AKS, Google GKE, and Red Hat OpenShift.
- Apply Kubernetes best practices including RBAC, namespaces, ingress/controller patterns, autoscaling, rollout/rollback strategies, secrets/config management, and cluster upgrade planning.
- Partner with security and architecture to define and enforce standards for container security, image management, and runtime controls.
DevOps, CI/CD, IaC & Automation:
- Drive adoption and continuous improvement of CI/CD, release automation, and engineering quality gates.
- Lead platform automation using Terraform, Ansible, and Python (or equivalent) to improve speed, consistency, and reliability.
- Establish standards for code quality, peer review, documentation, and reusable assets (modules, playbooks, pipeline templates).
Agile Delivery — Scrum Master (Mandatory):
- Serve as the Scrum Master for one or more squads; facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Coach team members and stakeholders on agile practices including definition of ready/done, estimation, capacity planning, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain delivery predictability using agile/flow metrics (velocity/throughput trends, burn-down/up, WIP, dependency and impediment tracking).
- Proactively remove impediments and manage cross-team dependencies to ensure delivery commitments are met.
Delivery Governance, Risk & Quality:
- Own delivery governance for the platform portfolio including planning, status reporting, milestone management, budget awareness, and release governance.
- Identify and mitigate risks; manage escalations, resolve conflicts, and drive timely decisions across stakeholders.
- Ensure quality assurance procedures and engagement reviews are performed consistently; drive corrective actions and prevent recurrence through continuous improvement.
- Validate delivery processes and propose enhancements to improve throughput, quality, and operational stability.
Stakeholder Management & Communication:
- Build relationships with technology and business leaders (up to Senior Engineering Lead, Product Owners, and Solution Architects).
- Understand business roadmap and translate priorities into clear delivery plans, risks, and dependencies.
- Coordinate effectively with onshore/offshore stakeholders; ensure transparency and alignment with US counterparts.
People Leadership & Talent Management:
- Lead and develop a high-performing team across multiple roles and technologies; set goals, provide coaching, and deliver timely performance feedback.
- Drive staffing plans (skill mix), partnering with Talent Acquisition; ensure timely backfills.
- Foster a culture of inclusion, accountability, innovation, documentation discipline, and continuous learning.
- Support engagement and retention through recognition, career development, mentorship, and growth plans.
Enterprise Contribution:
- Contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives and standardization efforts; promote reuse of patterns/assets to improve platform delivery at scale.
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE
- 10-12 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, with a focus on networking.
- 8+ years experience delivering and supporting large-scale enterprise technology solutions, with significant experience in cloud/platform engineering.
- 4+ years experience leading teams and/or multiple squads in a global delivery model (onshore/offshore).
- Proven leadership in a highly matrixed organization, driving outcomes through influence, governance, and collaboration.
- Mandatory: demonstrated experience performing Scrum Master responsibilities for engineering teams in an enterprise agile environment.
Strong understanding and practical experience with:
- Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, and/or GCP (multi-cloud exposure preferred)
- Kubernetes and containers: including enterprise platforms EKS, AKS, GKE, OpenShift
- Infrastructure as Code / Automation: Terraform (preferred), Ansible, Python scripting
- CI/CD and release automation: implementing and improving pipelines and quality controls
- Production readiness fundamentals: monitoring/alerting, incident readiness, runbooks, capacity and lifecycle management.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in the healthcare domain.
- Experience establishing platform standards such as landing zones, policy-as-code, identity patterns, and environment governance across multiple clouds.
- Experience with observability platforms and practices (metrics/logs/traces; dashboards and alerting).
