ROLE SUMMARY
This role is based in Bengaluru, India, and forms part of LSEG’s global Internal Audit function.
The role will primarily support audit coverage of the Operations business across Asia Pacific, while also contributing to global audit engagements and priorities. You will work with Internal Audit colleagues and business partners across different countries, functions and time zones.
You will support delivery of the Internal Audit plan by taking ownership of defined areas of audit engagements. You will identify key business risks and controls, complete audit testing, document conclusions and draft clear audit findings in line with Internal Audit methodology.
Working with Audit Managers and Senior Audit Managers, you will contribute to audit planning and scoping, communicate emerging risks and support the timely delivery of high-quality audit work.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Contribute to the planning and scoping of regional and global audit engagements.
- Develop an understanding of LSEG’s Operations activities, business objectives, risks and controls across APAC and other relevant global locations.
- Identify and assess key risks and controls within assigned areas of an audit.
- Design and complete audit procedures in line with the agreed scope and Internal Audit methodology.
- Perform testing and analysis of business processes, risks and controls.
- Prepare clear, accurate and evidence-based audit workpapers.
- Document the conclusions reached from the audit work performed.
- Draft audit findings that clearly explain the risk, root cause, impact and required action.
- Validate and communicate the results of audit work with relevant business partners.
- Confirm the factual accuracy of audit findings and conclusions with business partners.
- Take ownership of agreed components of audit engagements under the supervision of an Audit Manager or Senior Audit Manager.
- Coordinate colleagues supporting assigned areas of an audit, where appropriate.
- Ensure work completed by colleagues on related audit sections follows agreed audit procedures and quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with Internal Audit colleagues and business partners across APAC and other global locations.
- Call out findings, emerging risks, delivery concerns or changes in scope to the Audit Lead.
- Contribute insights that may support changes to regional and global Internal Audit plans.
- Use data and analytics, where appropriate, to support audit testing and identify risk or control trends.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across the global Internal Audit function.
- Build constructive and collaborative relationships across Internal Audit and the Operations business.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Essential skills and experience
- Experience delivering internal audit, external audit, assurance, risk or controls reviews.
- Experience identifying business risks, assessing controls and completing audit testing.
- Experience preparing clear and well-supported audit documentation.
- The ability to analyse information, apply professional judgement and reach balanced conclusions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to explain risks, controls and audit findings clearly to business partners.
- The confidence to ask constructive questions and appropriately challenge established practices.
- The ability to organise your work, manage priorities and deliver to agreed deadlines.
- Experience building effective relationships with business partners.
- The ability to work effectively with colleagues and partners across different countries, cultures and levels of seniority.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to contribute effectively within regional and global teams.
- A commitment to integrity, quality and continuous improvement.
Desirable skills and experience
- Experience completing business or operational audit reviews.
- Experience within financial services, financial markets infrastructure, data services or another regulated organisation.
- Experience working across APAC markets or within a global organisation.
- A recognised internal audit, accounting, risk or technology qualification, or progress towards one.
- Relevant qualifications may include those offered by the Institute of Internal Auditors, Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors or an equivalent professional body.
- Experience using data analysis or audit analytics.
- Experience coordinating or supervising the work of colleagues during an audit or assurance review.
- Experience working in a fast-paced international or matrix organisation.
