Job Description

Financial Analyst III

About the Role

Are you passionate about governance, process management and operational excellence in a global environment? Do you enjoy coordinating processes across multiple stakeholders while identifying opportunities to simplify and automate the way we work?

This is an opportunity to join Swiss Re's Intra-group Transactions (IGT) Governance team, supporting governance processes across Intra-group Retrocession (IGR), Intra-group Loans (IGL), and Guarantees.

Intra-group transactions connect legal entities across the Swiss Re Group, providing protection for legal entities while optimizing local funding requirements and supporting external client transactions.

In this role, you will support the effective execution of governance processes, including approval management, governance reviews, contract drafting and documentation, stakeholder coordination, audit support, process improvement and automation initiatives.

You will work with stakeholders across functions including Capital Management, Carrier Management, Tax, Actuarial, Underwriting, Accounting, Legal and Technology. You will also have opportunities to build your knowledge of reinsurance and intra-group transactions while contributing to the team's digitalization and AI initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate governance processes across Intra-group Transactions, including Intra-group Retrocession (IGR), Intra-group Loans (IGL), and Guarantees.
  • Coordinate governance activities end-to-end, including approvals, periodic reviews, documentation, follow-ups and tracking of key deliverables.
  • Maintain governance records, contracts, approvals and supporting documentation accurately and ensure they remain complete and audit-ready.
  • Support the drafting, review and maintenance of intra-group contracts, amendments and related contractual documentation, working with relevant business and functional stakeholders and ensuring alignment with established templates, governance requirements and agreed business terms.
  • Support contract renewals, amendments, approvals and sign-off processes in accordance with applicable governance, regulatory and tax requirements.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across different functions, legal entities and geographies to ensure timely completion of governance activities.
  • Organize and support IGR governance committee meetings, governance forums and workshops, including preparation of materials, tracking of decisions and follow-up of action items.
  • Support internal and external audits by coordinating documentation, evidence and responses relating to assigned governance processes.
  • Document and maintain process flows, procedures, controls and governance documentation, and identify opportunities for process simplification and improvement.
  • Contribute to automation and digitalization initiatives by identifying opportunities to simplify governance processes, reduce manual activities and improve process efficiency.
  • Support the development and enhancement of digital forms, workflows and process solutions, leveraging tools such as SharePoint Online, Power Apps and Power Automate where appropriate.
  • Explore and apply AI-enabled tools, including Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT and AI agents, to support productivity, process improvement and knowledge management.
  • Support process improvement and change initiatives, including assessing process impacts, coordinating stakeholder inputs, implementing agreed changes and supporting their effective adoption.
  • Build knowledge of IGR and reinsurance processes and progressively take ownership of assigned governance topics and processes.

About the Team

The Central IGT Governance team is part of Group Treasury and is responsible for overseeing governance processes related to Intra-group Retrocession (IGR), Intra-group Loans (IGL), and Guarantees across the Swiss Re Group.

The team works closely with stakeholders across Treasury, Tax, Carrier Management, Legal, Accounting, Underwriting and Technology to ensure that intra-group transactions are governed effectively, documented appropriately and executed in compliance with internal standards and regulatory and tax requirements.

As part of a global team, you will collaborate with colleagues across regions while contributing to governance excellence, operational resilience, process improvement and digitalization.

About You

You are a structured, organized and detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with processes and bringing clarity to complex activities.

You are comfortable coordinating with multiple stakeholders and following topics through to completion. You take ownership of your responsibilities, communicate clearly and are comfortable working in a global and cross-functional environment.

You are also curious about technology and enjoy identifying opportunities where automation, digital tools and AI can make processes simpler and more efficient.

You do not necessarily need to be a reinsurance expert from day one, but you should have an interest in developing your understanding of reinsurance and intra-group transactions.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 5–6 years of professional experience, preferably in governance, process management, business operations, operational controls or a similar role within a global organization.
  • Practical experience working with governance processes, controls, approvals, documentation, operational risk or audit-related activities.
  • Strong process management skills, with the ability to coordinate activities end-to-end, manage dependencies and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple stakeholders across functions and geographies.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple topics, deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to analyse existing processes, identify gaps or inefficiencies and recommend practical improvements.
  • Interest in process automation, digitalization and AI, with the ability to identify opportunities where technology can improve governance processes and operational efficiency.
  • Interest in and practical exposure to AI-enabled tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, AI agents or similar technologies.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned responsibilities while collaborating effectively within a global team.

These are additional nice-to-haves:

  • Hands-on experience with SharePoint Online, Power Apps and Power Automate, particularly in designing forms, building workflows and automating business processes, would be a strong advantage.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting and data visualisation tools would be a nice-to-have.
  • Experience within insurance, reinsurance or financial services.
  • Understanding of reinsurance concepts, contracts or related business processes.
  • Experience in contract drafting, review or contract management, preferably within insurance, reinsurance, financial services or another regulated environment.
  • Experience documenting processes, procedures, governance requirements and controls.
  • Experience applying structured process or project management approaches to coordinate activities and deliver outcomes.
  • Relevant certification in project management, process improvement, automation or AI.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with an interest in innovation, digitalization and automation.

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
