Key Responsibilities:
Project Cost Estimation
- Coordinate with internal and external agencies to develop cost estimates for ISBL units and OSBL.
- Review cost estimates prepared by other agencies.
- Ensure proper level and accuracy of cost estimates required for the approval process.
Develop In-house Database
- Develop and maintain the database for cost estimation.
- Maintain up-to-date rates for various construction activities at the project location.
Cost Estimation Software
- Maintain cost estimation software tools and develop an internal database for accurate cost estimates.
- Coordinate with external and internal agencies for the same.
Key Decisions:
Made by Jobholder:
- Determine accuracy and level of cost estimates.
- Format and present estimates as per stakeholder requirements.
- Review external cost estimates and verify them when required.
Recommendations to Superior:
- Cost estimation systems.
- Highlight grey areas in estimates.
- Review external estimates for acceptance.
Financial Impact:
- Cost estimation reviews.
- Preparation of cost estimates.
- Preparing justifications in case of variations.
Educational Qualifications & Certifications:
- BE/B.Tech in any branch of Engineering.
- Trained in handling Aspentech Capital Cost Estimator software.
Relevant Experience:
- 10 to 15 years’ experience in various aspects of cost estimation in Refinery and Petrochemicals.
- Experience in handling Aspentech Capital Cost Estimator.
Functional Skills:
- Knowledge of Project Management tools.
- Working knowledge of all aspects of project execution from concept to commissioning, particularly in Hydrocarbon industry.
- Ability to review cost estimates, time schedules, and other project control documents.
